
The 11th GTA Cup Open National Taekwondo Championship, organized by Emerald Martial Arts Academy, concluded at the Skating Rink, Sector-10, Chandigarh. On the second and final day of the championship, matches were held among players from various age groups, who participated with great enthusiasm and energy. Outstanding performers were awarded medals and trophies by the organizer and Director of Emerald Martial Arts Academy, Master Shiv Raj Gharti.
On the final day, 6th Dan Black Belt Master Shiv Raj Gharti and 3rd Dan Black Belt Coach Kavita Rai honored the winning players with gold, silver, and bronze medals. In addition, the team with the best overall performance was presented with the Overall Trophy. Coaches, referees, volunteers, and event sponsor KBD Group were also felicitated on the occasion.
Nutritionist and Fitness Consultant Aman Khurana shared valuable health and fitness tips with the players.
Participants aged between 2 and 50 years took part in the championship. The event was conducted across four major categories: Kyorugi (Fighting), Poomsae (Forms), Gyeokpa (Breaking), and Speed Kicking. More than 200 participants from 10 states across the country competed in this prestigious championship. A total of 43 schools from the Tricity region and 28 schools from 10 other states participated. The primary objective of the championship was to provide a strong platform to young and talented players, enabling them to sharpen their skills and excel at national and international levels.
On this occasion, Master Shiv Raj Gharti stated that such competitions play a vital role in enhancing players’ confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship. He emphasized that the aim of Emerald Martial Arts Academy is to guide youth in a positive direction and help them become physically and mentally strong through sports. He thanked all participants, coaches, parents, and supporters and expressed confidence that such events would be organized on an even larger scale in the future.
