Udyaveer Singh & Arshiya Khan bagged away the Glambird’s Miss & Mr North India

The beauty business has never looked better. Small-town aspiring boys and girls make pageants their first port of call as grooming schools and modelling agencies proliferate. The most awaited beauty pageant of North India hosted by Glambirds Entertainment concluded recently with much fanfare.  Udyaveer Singh & Muskan Bisht bagged away the Glambird’s Miss & Mr North India Subcontinent title while Rohandeep Singh & Muskan Bisht was crowned Mr & Miss North India 2017 in a colourful ceremony that happened at the Hotel Country Inn in the capital recently.

The pageant saw more than a hundred male and sixty female models contestants from almost five states that included Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar.  Among the jury members were MTV fame and Bollywood Actor Ranvijay Singh, TV actors Nandish Sandu, Sukhmani, Vikas Gupta, Priyank Sharma, Miss India Rashi Rao, stylist Sylvie Rodgers, Avleen Khokhar, Pammy Kaul along with designer Kirti Rathore. The event which has given many successful models in the past is the brain child of choreographer Jagnoor Aneja and entrepreneur Varun Jhamb.

Talking to media over the criteria of selection, Varun Jhamb, Director Glambirds Entertainment said, “The key criteria for the contestants’ selection were their ramp walk, the first impression they made on the judges and their photogenic appeal.”

While speaking to the media, MTV VJ and actor Ranvijay Singh said: “I am quite happy to see the zeal and energy in all these young boys and girls who are aspiring to be the future faces of the glamour industry. And, such pageants enhance your confidence so that tomorrow when you go out for professional assignments you come across as confident individuals.” Adding to this Jagnoor Aneja, choreographer and organizer of the pageant said: “It’s our seventh edition and I am proud to say that almost all our winners of the past few years have outshown themselves on reality shows on the national television so our whole idea is to groom and prepare them to fight with the best in the industry.”

Celebrity hair stylist and eminent jury member Sylvie Rodgers who has seen the pageant for long said, “Models are facing stiff competition, with so many girls coming here from different countries as well. It is great to see a global wave happening here and to be a part of this makes me feel even more proud. Not only is the event prestigious, but it also puts you on a good global platform with guidance and grooming by finest panel of people from fashion fraternity.”

The event saw a hoard of Delhi socialites in attendance that included Varun Katyal, Sanjay Nigam, Viresh Verma, Shaine Soni, Rochika Agarwal, Yotsana Atree, Ankit Nagpal, Mia Lakhra, Chand Bakshi, Sujay Ghosh and Vandana Vadhera among others.

The pageant was supported by Reliance Trends, VLCC, White Pepper, Country Inn, Hotel Pride Plaza and Luxoticaa Spa
