Chandigarh, UT Cricket Association conducted trials for shortlisted players from the Gully Cricket Tournament at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Thursday. A total of 17 promising players who impressed with their performances with both bat and ball during the tournament participated in the selection trials for upcoming UTCA domestic matches.
The trials were supervised by a panel comprising Yoginder Bhandari, Bharat Lumba and Ravinder Nain. Earlier, UTCA Secretary Hari Singh Khurana encouraged the players to continue working hard and make the most of the opportunities being provided.
The Gully Cricket Tournament was organised in April by UTCA in association with Chandigarh Police, engaging nearly 3,500 youngsters in the 13-19 age group across the city. The initiative aimed at identifying talented players from vulnerable and underprivileged backgrounds and providing them exposure and access to organised cricket.
