
Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Anil Vij has taken strict cognisance of an incident in which a shop was set on fire and death threats were issued to a person in Mahesh Nagar, Ambala Cantt. Directing the Mahesh Nagar police station to register a case, he said, “When the victim is naming the accused, why is no action being taken? I will not allow hooliganism here.”
Vij was redressing grievances of people from the Ambala Cantt Assembly constituency at his residence in Ambala Cantt.
Before the Energy Minister, a woman resident of Mahesh Nagar submitted a complaint stating that she runs a printing press shop in Mahesh Nagar. Although the shop was to be vacated within a few days, meanwhile some people threatened her husband and later set the shop on fire. Taking cognisance of the complaint, Minister Anil Vij given directions for necessary action in the matter.
Similarly, a woman resident of Chandrapuri complained to Minister Anil Vij that she has two daughters and that her husband repeatedly assaults her and threatens to throw her out of the house. The Energy Minister immediately directed the Padaav police station in-charge, who was present on the spot, to take action in the matter.
*Contract employees working in the Army appeal to Minister Anil Vij*
Around 150 contractual employees working with the Army also submitted their grievance to Energy Minister Anil Vij, stating that they have been working on contract at the Station Headquarters in various posts for nearly the past 15 years. They alleged that action is now being taken by the Army to remove them from service. On receiving their complaint, Minister Anil Vij assured them that he would speak to the concerned military authorities regarding the issue.
*Fraud in the name of plot in Jaggi Colony, Minister Vij orders registration of case*
A resident of Ekta Vihar, Ambala Cantt, complained to Energy Minister Anil Vij that he had purchased a plot a few years ago in Jaggi Colony Phase-3, Ambala City. When he recently started construction on the plot, some people threatened him and even attempted to assault him. He stated that he possesses all valid land documents but is being prevented from carrying out construction. Minister Anil Vij directed the Mahesh Nagar SHO to register a case against the accused and take appropriate action.
Similarly, a woman working in Defence Colony complained that the firm owner had not paid her salary for one and a half months, upon which Minister Anil Vij directed the Labour Department to take action. Other complaints included non-demarcation of land in Ramgarh Majra by a resident of Babiyal, opposition by some people to the installation of a mobile tower at a house by a resident of Hari Nagar, and several other greviances, on which Minister Anil Vij directed the concerned departments to take necessary action.
