Paras Health Panchkula observed World Patient Safety Day 2025 with a week-long awareness initiative highlighting the importance of safe care for every newborn and child. This year’s theme was “Safe care for every newborn and every child” with the slogan “Patient safety from the start!”
Speaking on the occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Shweta Prabhakar said, “Children are our future, and their safety is our foremost responsibility. Safe and quality care from the very beginning of life leads to better health outcomes in the long run.”
As part of the awareness drive, doctors and nurses visited nearby schools to conduct Basic Life Support (BLS) demonstrations and interactive activities, helping children understand safety from an early age. Within the hospital, awareness rounds, staff quizzes, and patient engagement activities were organized. The hospital building was illuminated in orange to symbolize global solidarity for patient safety. Mock Code Pink drills and equipment safety checks were also conducted to strengthen preparedness.
Facility Director Dr. Pankaj Mittal added, “Paras Health Panchkula translated WHO’s global call into meaningful local action. Ensuring safe care requires collaboration between parents, schools, and healthcare teams. Every newborn and child deserves to grow up safe and healthy.” The week was a closing ceremony, where hospital leaders, caregivers, and staff reviewed the activities and reaffirmed their commitment to patient safety. Through this initiative, Paras Health Panchkula reinforced its leadership in promoting safe, respectful, and quality care for every child—supporting WHO’s vision of building a safer and healthier future for all.
