Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23 A, Chandigarh in collaboration with Haryana Yog Aayog conducted a pre conference curtain raiser program of the 2 day national conference namely ‘Role of yoga and naturopathy  in management of Metabolic Disorders’.
The principal of the college Dr.Sapna Nanda welcomed Dr. Hanumant Rao from Kanyakumari, Dr. Nandita , Professor, Dean Student Welfare, Department of Education,Panjab University, Alka Gauri ji and Yogesh ji from Vivekananda Kendra Chandigarh.The speaker of the occasion Dr. Hanumant Rao gave a talk on Swami Vivekananda’s contribution and practical expression of concept of yoga.

In addition to this he also explained dimensions and outlook of the person towards nation and universe, his relationship and attitude towards the entire creation as ‘ Vasudev Kutumbhkam’. He also explained about the importance of imbibing the principles of yoga philosophy to lead a successful and purposeful life. He also stressed on the fact that yoga is not desirelessness but mind management.
Besides this he also clarified about the concepts of ‘Chitta Vritti Nirodah’ and ‘Swastha’ which are the basis of Heath management. All in all he emphasised that yoga is a holistic view and treatment of life. Mr. Kulwant Singh, Yoga Instructor compared the event and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Mohinder Kumar, Yoga Instructor of the college.
