
Chandigarh, A magnificent unbeaten century by Arnav Bansal guided Chandigarh Kings to a commanding 120-run victory over Capital Strikers in the OMAXE Chandigarh Premier League played at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula on Friday.
Batting first after Capital Strikers elected to field, Chandigarh Kings amassed a massive total of 238 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings witnessed a sensational knock from Arnav Bansal (102 balls off 54 balls). His innings featured 11 towering sixes and two boundaries. He received excellent support from unbeaten Harish Kumar (54 runs from 17 balls) and skipper Shivam Bhambri (36 off 20 balls) while Bhagmender Lather chipped in with 17 runs.
In reply, Capital Strikers struggled against a disciplined Chandigarh Kings bowling attack and could only manage 118 for 8 in their 20 overs. Jaskirat Singh Mehra fought a lone battle with an unbeaten 48. Bhagmender Lather (3/16) starred with the ball while Rohit Dhanda picked up two wickets.
Earlier, on Thursday’s night, a brilliant half-century by Sanyam Saini and a disciplined bowling performance helped Tricity Bashers register an 11-run victory over Royal Titans. Batting first after winning the toss, Bashers posted an imposing 192/6 in 20 overs. Sanyam Saini anchored the innings with a fluent 60 off 44 balls while Tushar Joshi provided a flying start with a 12-ball 33. Taranpreet Singh added 27 runs. In reply, Royal Titans fought hard through Amrit Lal Lubana’s impressive 62 and Mridul Chawla’s 36, but fell short at 181/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Gaganpreet Singh (3/25) was the pick of the bowler in the inning.
