Azure Power Donates Motored Wheel Chairs And Modified Scooters For Disabled Army Veteran
India’s leading independent solar power producer today donated motored wheel chairs and modified scooters fordisabled Army veterans, in Patiala. The veneration ceremony was conducted at Veterans Sahayata Kendra, Patiala, Headquarters 1 Armoured Division. This service donation by the company is a token of respect and gratitude towards the army personnel towards their dedicated services for the nation.
The Sahayata Kendra endeavors to provide quality disability care and support services to the veterans and their families.Azure Power has come forward and taken the onus ofequipping the Kendra with latest technology equipment. This would helpthe veterans move distances or over terrain which is fatiguing in a manual wheelchair or an ordinary scooter. Assistance to veterans with disability in the form of mechanized mobility shall go a long way in empowering and making the elders self-reliant to a greater degree.
Azure Power has been consistent in providing support to communities in Punjab. This is for the first time that the company has raised their contribution for the Indian Army’s welfare.13 motorized wheel chairs and 23 modified scooters were distributed by the company at the distribution event. The event hosted approximately 150 people, including family members of the disabled soldiers. The company has previously installed RO water purifiers, solar street lights and built houses for economically weaker sections (EWS) in various villages of Punjab.
