
Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini said that to prevent damage to food grains, it is essential to have an adequate number of warehouses and silos in the state. He directed the concerned departments to prepare a detailed action plan and find a permanent solution to the issue of grain storage at the earliest. He also directed that a plan be prepared to construct a silo (large warehouse) between Shahabad and Ambala.
Nayab Singh Saini was chairing a review meeting with officers of various departments at the Haryana Civil Secretariat on Wednesday regarding grain storage across the state and water supply arrangements in the Palwal and Nuh regions. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shyam Singh Rana, along with senior officers from various departments, also attended the meeting.
Directions Issued to identify up to 100 acres of land between rail and road for silo construction
The Chief Minister said that farmers work tirelessly day and night to produce food grains, and therefore, adequate storage infrastructure is essential to ensure their safety. He directed officers to identify a location between Shahabad and Ambala for constructing a silo (large warehouse) situated between a railway line and a road. This would ensure cost-effective connectivity of the silo with the rest of the country. He further directed that up to 100 acres of land be acquired between the railway line and road as required. Officers were directed to complete the planning process for land acquisition and silo construction within one month.
Focus on safe storage plan for fruits and vegetables in Hisar
The Chief Minister said that due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, there is a significant demand for fruits and vegetables in that region. He directed the Warehousing Corporation to prepare a plan for setting up a silo or a large warehouse near Hisar Airport for safe storage of fruits and vegetables. These could then be supplied to the Middle East via Hisar Airport, enabling farmers to get better prices for their produce.
Plan canal-based water supply- CM
Officers of the Public Health Department informed that drinking water is currently supplied through tube wells in 108 villages of Palwal and Nuh, as well as in Punhana town. To maintain groundwater levels, the department plans to install seven Ranney wells and boosting stations, at an estimated cost of Rs. 765 crore.
The Chief Minister directed that, in addition to this, a plan should be prepared to provide canal-based water supply in areas currently dependent on tube wells. He said that with the development of new industrial zones in Nuh and Palwal in the future, the demand for water will increase significantly.
Directions to plant large number of saplings under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign
Keeping in view the upcoming monsoon season, the Chief Minister directed that large-scale plantation drives be carried out across the state. He said that under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, tree plantation should begin immediately to increase green cover in the state. He also directed that tree guards be installed to protect saplings and ensure timely watering so that they grow properly. Officials were asked to prepare a comprehensive action plan for this.
Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Vijayendra Kumar, Commissioner and Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, J. Ganesan, Managing Director, Haryana Warehousing Corporation Dr. Shaleen, along with other senior officers, also attended the meeting.

Minister issues Strict Directions for Uninterrupted Supply; No Constraint of Funds or Resources, says Minister
Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry, has asserted that the State Government will ensure that there is zero shortage of drinking water in any part of Haryana. She emphasized that the government is fully committed to providing adequate and safe drinking water to all citizens.
The Minister was chairing a review meeting with senior officers of the Irrigation Department and Public Health Engineering Department here today. During the meeting, she reviewed the prevailing drinking water supply situation across the State and issued necessary directions to ensure seamless supply.
She further directed officers to install additional pumps wherever required and ensure timely filling of water storage tanks so that the general public does not face any inconvenience. She made it clear that there will be no constraint of funds or resources from the government’s side in maintaining uninterrupted water supply.
Smt. Shruti Choudhry further directed officers and field staff to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and accountability. Warning against negligence, she said that any lapse in duty will invite strict action against the concerned officers.
Appealing to the people of the State, the Minister urged citizens to use water judiciously, especially in view of the rising temperatures. She said that water is a precious resource and must be conserved by avoiding its misuse and ensuring its need-based utilization so that adequate supply can be maintained for all.
Smt. Shruti Choudhry also informed that water was released into the Hansi Branch on Monday, May 4, 2026, which has now reached the water storage tanks of Bhiwani city through the Sundar Sub-Branch. This will help in improving the drinking water supply situation in the Bhiwani region.
Haryana Right to Service Commission launches WhatsApp-based chatbot
Access to services and appeal process to become easier
The Haryana Right to Service Commission has launched a WhatsApp-based chatbot to simplify and make accessible the process of tracking application status and filing appeals for citizens.
Sharing more information in this regard a spokesperson of the Commission said that this chatbot is an important initiative aimed at enhancing transparency and strengthening citizen services through digital technology. Through this, citizens can now easily check the status of their applications, file appeals under the Auto Appeal System (AAS), and receive all updates related to their applications and appeals.
He further stated that this platform will provide fast, simple, and hassle-free services to citizens via WhatsApp, enabling them to access information and initiate the appeal process directly from their mobile phones.
The spokesperson further informed that citizens can use this chatbot anytime by sending a message on WhatsApp number 6239466937.
He said that the Haryana Right to Service Commission continues to undertake digital initiatives to make time-bound service delivery and grievance redressal systems more effective.
Haryana Government Directs Employees to Submit Annual Property Returns by May 22
The Haryana Government has directed all State Government employees to submit their Annual Property Return (APR) for the year 2025–2026 by May 22, 2026.
According to instructions issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, under Rule 24 of the Haryana Civil Services (Government Employees Conduct) Rules, 2016, it is mandatory for every government employee to file an annual property return at the end of each financial year.
In this regard, all concerned officers and employees have been instructed to ensure that if they have not yet submitted returns for previous years, the same must also be filed within the stipulated timeline on the official government portal intrahry.gov.in.
