Chandigarh, Chandigarh emerged victorious over Jammu & Kashmir by a slight margin of one wicket in the Women’s Under-19 One Day Trophy Elite match being played at Lucknow. Opting to field after winning the toss, Chandigarh’s bowlers restricted the opposition to 82/7 in 25 overs in a weather affected match. Aleeza Jan (20) was the top scorer while unbeaten Janvi Rajpur added 14 runs. Tarunika (4/4) clinched four wickets in her spell of five overs while Aahan Vaid took one wicket.
Chandigarh got off to a dismal start with 28/7 on the board. However, a 36-run partnership between Divniddi Sandil and Geet Pahwa steadied the innings. Unbeaten Sandil guided the UT girls to chase down the target in 17.1 overs with Pahwa contributing 13 crucial runs.
Chandigarh, The Cooch Behar Trophy Elite match between Chandigarh and Goa at the Goa Cricket Association Academy, Porvorim (Goa) concluded in a hard-fought draw on Friday. Chandigarh, after winning the toss and elected to field, restricted Goa to 308. Later, a double ton powered by opener Abhimanyu (220) helped UT boys to post a mammoth of 457. The hosts Goa in their second innings played a sensible game and scored 283/7 before the match was declared a draw. Chandigarh’s Ankan Latka clinched a total of six wickets in the match.

After being bundled out for just 70 in their first innings, Chandigarh’s bowlers struggled to contain Tamil Nadu who posted a massive 385. The UT boys’ woes continued in the second innings as they managed only 64 runs, handing Tamil Nadu a comprehensive victory.
