
Chandigarh: Three promising cricketers from the city namely Kashvee Gautam, Nandini Sharma and Tarunika have been selected to represent the North Zone in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal ODI Tournament scheduled to be held from March 5 to 15 in Bengaluru. The squad was finalised during the North Zone Selection Committee meeting held in Jammu on Thursday.
Kashvee Gautam is currently with the Indian national team on its Australia tour for a three-match ODI series. Nandini Sharma, who impressed in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is presently representing India at the Emerging Asia Cup in Bangkok, Thailand. Meanwhile, Tarunika earned her place in the squad following an outstanding performance in the recent domestic season, further strengthening Chandigarh’s presence at the national level.
Reacting to the selections, Sanjay Tandon, Founder President, UTCA, said: “It is a proud moment for Chandigarh cricket to see three of our talented girls representing the North Zone.
