Earlier, the Chief Minister, along with farmers, listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live address from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal. During the programme, the Prime Minister released the 23rd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), transferring more than Rs 18,880 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.44 crore beneficiary farmers across the country.

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the farmers of Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that with the release of the 23rd installment today, a total of Rs 7,881.60 crore has been transferred to the state’s farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. He said that this assistance is being credited directly into farmers’ bank accounts without any middlemen, commissions, or recommendations.

The Chief Minister said that these funds reflect the nation’s respect and gratitude towards its annadatas (food providers). They symbolize the government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests and welfare of those who tirelessly serve Mother Earth and contribute to the country’s food security. He expressed special gratitude to Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi for placing farmers’ welfare at the forefront of governance and policy-making.

Nayab Singh Saini said that there was a time when farmers had to make repeated visits to government offices to avail themselves of benefits and services. However, technology-driven governance has transformed the system. Today, farmers receive their rightful benefits directly in their bank accounts with complete transparency and dignity. He said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi firmly believes that a strong farmer is the foundation of a strong India, and this vision has provided a new direction and momentum to the country’s agricultural sector.

The Chief Minister further stated that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is steadily emerging as a leading global power. He attributed this achievement to the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment, visionary leadership, tireless dedication spanning more than 4,400 days in office, and his steadfast resolve to place national interest above all else.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the Haryana Government’s commitment to empowering farmers and making them prosperous, self-reliant, and progressive. He said that Haryana is procuring all 24 crops grown by farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), reflecting the state’s unwavering support for the farming community.

He further said that during the last 12 crop procurement seasons, an amount of approximately Rs 1.80 lakh crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of around 12 lakh farmers as payment for their produce. Highlighting the government’s efforts to promote sustainable agriculture, the Chief Minister said that the ‘Natural Farming Scheme’ was launched in 2022 to encourage natural farming practices across the state. A dedicated Natural Farming Portal has also been developed, on which nearly 2 lakh farmers have registered around 3 lakh acres of land. Of these, 23,930 farmers have been verified for adopting natural farming on approximately 44,000 acres.

He said that during the year 2025-26, natural farming was practiced on 20,727 acres of land in Haryana. To further promote this farming method, dedicated training centres have been established at Gurukul, Kurukshetra; Hameti, Jind; Mangiana, Sirsa; and Gharaunda, Karnal. So far, more than 12,000 participants have received training in natural farming through these centres.

The Chief Minister said that, in collaboration with Haryana Agricultural University, a ‘Smart Agriculture’ initiative based on natural farming practices will be launched across a 2,000-acre cluster in Kurukshetra district. He assured farmers that the state government would compensate them for any losses incurred during the transition period.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also appealed to farmers to reduce the excessive use of urea and chemical pesticides in their fields. He emphasized that minimizing the use of such chemicals is essential to protecting human health, preserving soil fertility, and ensuring sustainable agricultural development.

Addressing the gathering, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing the 23rd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. He said that under the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership, the Central Government has launched several farmer-centric schemes and programmes over the past 12 years to enhance farmers’ income and make them self-reliant. Today, the benefits of these initiatives are reaching crores of farmers across the country.

The Agriculture Minister further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accorded special priority to natural farming. Inspired by his vision and guidance, the Haryana Government is actively promoting natural farming across the state and encouraging farmers to adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

He said that the adverse effects of chemical-intensive farming are becoming increasingly evident in society. Residues of pesticides and other chemical substances are entering the human body through food, posing serious health concerns. He emphasized the need to adopt natural farming practices to protect soil health, conserve water resources, preserve the environment, and ensure a healthier future for coming generations.

He urged farmers to embrace natural farming as a sustainable alternative that not only safeguards agricultural productivity but also contributes to creating a clean, healthy, and balanced ecosystem.

Among those present on the occasion were Vice-Chairman, Haryana Shivalik Development Board Om Prakash Devinagar, District President Ajay Mittal,  Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Vijyendra Kumar,  Director General Raj Narayan Kaushik, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, Media Secretary Praveen Atre and a large number of farmers.

CM calls for stronger Punjab under double-engine government

Emphasises Welfare, Employment and MSP Support for Punjab

CM meets delegation of Namdev Samaj of Sri Hargobindpur district, Gurdaspur, Punjab

Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is committed to strengthening Punjab, adding that accelerated development in the state is possible under a double-engine government. He said that while many young people in Punjab are compelled to seek employment abroad through illegal “donkey routes,” Haryana has created structured opportunities through a dedicated Foreign Cooperation Department.

The Chief Minister said that more than 5,500 applications from youth aspiring to work overseas are currently under scrutiny by the department. Under this initiative, applicants are required to bear only the cost of their air tickets.

Nayab Singh Sain said this while addressing a delegation of the Namdev Samaj from Sri Hargobindpur in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, Chandigarh, on Saturday.

Paying tribute to the Sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Singh Ji, the Chief Minister said that his teachings inspire people to stand against injustice and protect the weaker sections of society. He emphasised that these values remain highly relevant today and should be followed in practice.

Expressing concern over Punjab’s development trajectory, Saini said it is unfortunate that the land of the Sikh Gurus continues to lag behind in development. He alleged that successive governments, including those led by the Congress and AAP, have failed to meet public expectations and have misled the people. He further said that the people of Punjab have made up their minds to support the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Criticising the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government, the Chief Minister said that the promise of providing Rs. 1,000 per month to women had remained unfulfilled, noting that even the registration process for the scheme has not been completed. Whereas, the Haryana government allocated Rs. 5,000 crore in the 2025–26 budget and Rs. 6,500 crore in the 2026–27 budget under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana (DDLLY). Under the scheme, eligible women are receiving Rs. 2,100 per month directly in their bank accounts. So far, Rs. 1,600 crore has been disbursed to women beneficiaries across Haryana.

He also pointed out that senior citizens in Haryana receive Rs. 3,200 per month under the Old Age Samman Allowance, compared to Rs. 1,500 per month in Punjab.

Highlighting Haryana’s welfare and development initiatives, he said that if the people of Punjab place their trust in the vision and policies of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, in the next Assembly elections, similar benefits could be extended to Punjab as well. He asserted that a BJP government in Punjab would ensure the procurement of farmers’ crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), provide adequate compensation for crop losses, promote an industry-friendly environment, and work towards making Punjab the leading state in the country.

The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for inviting them and appreciated his outreach towards the people of Punjab. Members of the delegation said that the people of Punjab are taking note of his support and expressed confidence that the BJP would be strengthened in the state in the next Assembly elections.
