Continuous efforts are being made by us&state govt to increase electricity availability in Haryana
Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij said that continuous efforts are being made by him and the state government to increase electricity availability in Haryana. As part of this initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of an 800 MW unit in Yamunanagar on April 14. Additionally, 800 MW and two 600-600 MW power plants will soon be set up in Khedar and Panipat respectively, which will increase electricity production in Haryana and ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people.
The Energy Minister was speaking to the media today at T-Point, Sadar Bazar, Ambala. Superintendent Engineer of the discoms and other officials were also present.
While interacting with media persons, Energy Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that on April 14, the honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Yamunanagar, and all preparations are underway for this event. The entire state is ready to welcome the Prime Minister. He stated that on April 14, Haryana will receive a significant gift in the form of the foundation laying of an 800 MW thermal power plant in Yamunanagar. Given the high demand for electricity, additional plants of 800 MW in Khedar and 600 MW each in Panipat will also be established, boosting electricity production in Haryana.

Sh. Vij added that efforts are also underway to promote solar power plants. Under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, a subsidy of ₹1,10,000 is being provided for installing solar panels up to 2 kW. Efforts are being made to ensure that every household benefits from this scheme. Similarly, subsidies are being provided for installing solar panels on tubewells under the 10 kW category, and a significant number of such panels have already been installed.

Responding to opposition questions regarding the power situation, the Energy Minister said that Hooda and Surjewala always seem to suffer from stomach aches and should consult a good doctor. He criticized them, saying that they did nothing to improve the power situation during their tenure, and now that progress is being made, it bothers them.

In response to a question about the Congress party embracing the legacy of Sardar Patel, Vij said that the Congress never accepted anything about Patel and has always followed the Nehru-Gandhi family’s legacy. He questioned whether Congress is now abandoning that legacy, and remarked that it took them 70 years to realize that the Nehru-Gandhi family was wrong and Patel was right. He emphasized that Sardar Patel was indeed right and should have been embraced from the beginning.
Also present on the occasion were Sanjeev Walia, Deepak Bhasin, Shyam Sunder Arora, along with officials of the power discoms and other dignitaries.
