Govt focuses on modern & sustainable agriculture to enhance farmers’ income

With the objective of making Haryana a leading agricultural state in the country in line with Vision-2047 and enhancing farmers’ incomes, Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini on Friday reviewed the Agriculture Department’s five-year roadmap and action plan during a meeting  held at the Haryana Civil Secretariat.  During the meeting, emphasis was done on increasing farmers’ earnings by integrating agriculture with modern technologies, reducing cultivation costs, and ensuring better market access.

Reviewing the progress of Chief Minister’s announcements, Budget announcements and Sankalps related to the Agriculture Department, the Chief Minister directed officers to implement the Vision-2047 goals within the stipulated timeframe so that every farmer benefits from government schemes and agriculture becomes more profitable.

Review was also done regarding  the campaign to reclaim waterlogged, saline agricultural land. Officers apprised the Chief Minister that a target has been set to reclaim 1.40 lakh acres of such land during the current year.

The Chief Minister directed that a scientific plan be prepared to prevent the recurrence of the problem in the future and that a system for regular satellite-based monitoring be developed.

Reviewing the Soil Health Card Scheme, officers informed that the state has set a target of issuing 15 lakh Soil Health Cards. In the first phase, 3.75 lakh soil samples are to be collected, of which 50,620 samples have already been gathered. The remaining target is expected to be completed by July.

The Chief Minister directed that school students, college students and rural youth be engaged as volunteers in the campaign so that they gain an understanding of soil testing while also developing greater interest in agriculture.

The Chief Minister further directed that in districts with high urea consumption, soil test reports should be analysed to determine whether there is an actual nitrogen deficiency or whether farmers are applying urea in excess of the required quantity. Based on the findings, an appropriate strategy should be prepared to promote balanced fertiliser use among farmers.

During the meeting detailed discussions  were also done on promoting natural and organic farming. Officers apprised the Chief Minister that special arrangements are being made in 10 districts for the sale of natural and organic produce. Dedicated markets will be established in Hisar and Gurugram, while separate spaces will be earmarked for such produce in eight other mandis. Discussions were also held on further strengthening the certification mechanism for farmers’ produce.

The Chief Minister directed that separate registers be maintained in mandis for the procurement of crops produced through natural and organic farming. He also instructed that HAFED should facilitate the marketing, purchase and sale of such produce.

The meeting further discussed promoting Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) technology, widely publicising the incentive available to farmers under the scheme, and encouraging greater adoption of the technology. Setting a target of reducing stubble-burning incidents to zero through awareness campaigns and the use of modern farm machinery, the Chief Minister specifically directed that reapers and other necessary agricultural equipment be made available in districts bordering Punjab.

Strategies to promote crop diversification through the Mera Pani-Meri Virasat scheme and expand drip irrigation were also discussed.

The Chief Minister directed officers to encourage the use of modern cotton-picking machines in cotton-growing areas and to organise a special agriculture fair in Hisar in August to familiarise farmers with new agricultural technologies.

The Chief Minister said that the objective of Haryana Vision-2047 is not merely to increase agricultural production but also to enhance farmers’ incomes and make agriculture future-ready. He directed that farmers be encouraged to cultivate pulses, horticultural crops and other high-value crops, while ensuring better utilisation of natural resources and wider adoption of modern technologies so that the state’s farming community becomes more prosperous economically.

SIR-2026: Voters Can Submit Form-8 to Have Family Members Registered at the Same Polling Station

Applications Can Be Submitted Between July 21 and August 20, 2026

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer A. Sreenivas said that during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), it was observed that the names of members of several families are registered in the electoral rolls of different polling stations. Such situations arise when two separate polling stations are established within the same building for a particular sector or colony.

In such cases, if a family wishes to have all its eligible voters registered in the electoral roll of the same polling station in the future, it may request a change of polling station by submitting Form-8 during the claims and objections period following the publication of the Draft Electoral Roll-2026.

Appealing to new voters, the Chief Electoral Officer advised them to correctly and completely mention the details of an already registered family member while filling Form-6 and submit the application through the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the same polling station. This will help ensure that all members of the family are registered at a single polling station.

The Election Department has urged all voters to verify their names and other particulars after the publication of the Draft Electoral Roll. If family members are found to be registered at different polling stations and wish to have their names shifted to a single polling station, they may submit an application in Form-8 during the prescribed period from July 21 to August 20, 2026.

For any information or assistance related to the electoral roll, voters may contact their area BLO, use the “Book a Call” feature on the ECINET App, or call the toll-free helpline number 1950.

*Haryana Caps Daily Property Registration Appointments at 20 Per Office to Ensure Faster, Transparent Services*

In a move aimed at streamlining property registrations and curbing delays, the Haryana Government has capped the number of daily registration appointments at 20 tokens per registration office at the tehsil and sub-divisional levels. The new token-based system came into force across the state on July 2, 2026.

Financial Commissioner Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Dr. Sumita Misra, has communicated the revised arrangement to all Deputy Commissioners, directing them to ensure its strict implementation.

Under the new system, 20 tokens per day will be randomly allotted to the office of the District Revenue Officer-cum-Joint Sub-Registrar at each district headquarters tehsil, and regularly 20 tokens will be issued randomly daily to the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil)-cum-Sub-Registrar at the sub-divisional level. The existing system at sub-tehsil offices will remain unchanged.

The government has specified that the tokens will be generated daily and on a random basis, a move intended to eliminate preferential treatment and ensure equal opportunity for all applicants seeking registration of sale deeds and other property documents.

Revenue officers have been instructed to ensure that every allotted token is honoured and that the registration process is completed within the prescribed time. The directions apply to documents requiring compulsory or optional registration under Sections 17 and 18 of the Registration Act, 1908.

The state government believes the token-based mechanism will make the property registration process more transparent, predictable and citizen-friendly, while significantly reducing overcrowding at registration offices.

The reform is also expected to check the influence of middlemen, who often exploit applicants by promising quicker appointments or preferential access to registration counters. By introducing a fixed number of randomly generated daily appointments, the government aims to ensure a fair and orderly system where every applicant receives equal treatment.

It is also expected to generate new employment opportunities locally and accelerate the region’s economic development.

Officers further informed that the Union Ministry of Finance has approved Rs. 90 crores for the project, under which the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will develop visitor amenities, including protective shelters and other essential infrastructure, to ensure that tourists can explore the archaeological site in a safe, convenient and authentic environment.

Replica of Ancient Akhand Bharat to be Featured

The Chief Minister directed the officers to develop Rakhigarhi as a global heritage destination where every visitor can take pride in experiencing the scientific outlook, cultural richness and civilizational journey of ancient India.

The Chief Minister said the museum’s objective is not merely to display history but to bring it to life for future generations. Families, students, researchers and visitors from India and abroad should leave with a meaningful understanding of India’s thousands-year-old civilization, presented through a contemporary and immersive perspective.
