Jagdish Jhinda, president of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, meets-Vij
Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij today took serious note of a land fraud case in Defence Colony, Ambala, and of a land encroachment and assault case in Tundla, and ordered Panjokhra police to take strict action. He said hooliganism will not be tolerated and instructed the police to act firmly in these matters.
Vij was hearing people’s complaints at his residence in Ambala Cantonment today.
Family members from Tundla apprised the minister that they had complained to the municipal council about trees being cut on their land. When officials arrived to inspect the site, a local man objected and attacked the family with a baton. A complaint was filed with the police, but no action has been taken so far. The family alleged that the accused had earlier forcibly occupied their land, and no action has yet been taken in that matter either. Energy Minister Anil Vij directed Panjokhra police to take strict action in the case.
Similarly, a victim family from Defence Colony Sector-C submitted a complaint to the minister alleging land fraud. The Tundla family said they had purchased a 209-square-yard plot in Defence Colony through a property dealer. They paid the dealer and the registry was made in the dealer’s name. But when they had the plot identified by the tehsildar, it emerged that the plot’s documents were in someone else’s name. The family said they asked the dealer to transfer the plot into their name, but neither did they receive the plot nor was their money returned. Instead, the property dealer reportedly defrauded them using a fake agreement. Energy Minister Anil Vij instructed Panjokhra police to take strict action in this matter as well.
Other complaints were also brought before Energy Minister Anil Vij, and he gave officials direction to act. Residents from Panjokhra Sahib village requested repair of power lines, residents of Ekta Vihar asked for fixing of drainage, a woman from Babyal raised an issue with her electricity bill, and several other complaints were made; the minister directed action on all these matters.
Today, Jagdish Singh Jhinda, president of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, paid a courtesy visit to Energy Minister Anil Vij at his residence. The two discussed various issues during the meeting.
