
In the quarterfinal clash of the Journalist Premier League, Rajasthan registered an impressive 38-run victory over Haryana in the fourth match by delivering a strong all-round performance. The match was played at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula.
Journalist Welfare Trust in association with the United Press Club is organising this league. According to President of United Press Club Arshdeep Singh Summer, the league aims to pay tribute to the families of journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty. The event also serves as a platform to promote unity and camaraderie within the journalism community. Teams from Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh are participating in the tournament.
Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishan Bedi graced the occasion as the chief guest. Encouraging the players, he said such events not only promote the spirit of sportsmanship but also recognise and honour the contributions of journalists in society. He urged players to uphold discipline, dedication, and fair play.
After winning the toss, Rajasthan captain Mukesh Meena opted to bat first. Rajasthan posted a strong total of 189 for 4 in their 20 overs. Aditya Atreya led the charge with a brilliant 65, while wicketkeeper-batsman Garvit Narang remained unbeaten on 60. Satish Kumawat also played a quickfire knock of 44 off just 21 balls.

Chasing a target of 190, Haryana was bowled out for 151 in 17.4 overs. Jatin (54) and Lalit (44) showed some resistance, but the team struggled against Rajasthan’s disciplined bowling attack. Satish Kumawat and Avaj Panchal picked up four wickets each, while Ashutosh Zee chipped in with two wickets.
