To mark World Kidney Day and celebrate the spirit of International Women’s Day (IWD), Livasa Hospitals honoured 10 remarkable women kidney donors for their selfless contribution to their families and society, recognizing that women are no less physically, mentally and emotionally.

The event not only recognized their generosity but also shed light on the importance of organ donation and kidney health. Adding to the occasion’s significance, 20 key female influencers participated in an engaging conversation with Dr. Raka Kaushal, Senior Director-Nephrology, Livasa Hospital Mohali and Khanna, Dr. Avinash Srivastava, Senior Director – Urology and Kidney Transplant, Livasa Hospital Mohali, and the kidney donors, amplifying the message of kidney health awareness and women empowerment. Also, to emphasis this year’s IWD message – to accelerate actions for women’s quality.

Dr. Gagneen, DMRE and SOTO in-charge, graced the event as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the growing need for organ donation in India, the importance of early detection, and the critical role of kidney care in preventing end-stage renal disease.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Pawan Kumar, Director and CEO, Livasa Hospitals said, “Organ donation is the ultimate act of humanity, and it is inspiring to see these incredible women step forward to save lives. To support women’s kidney health, we are offering free consultations until March 31 for women above 40 facing any kidney issues. Early detection is key, and we urge every woman to prioritize her health as she does for her loved ones.”

Further underscoring its leadership in nephrology and transplant care, Livasa Hospitals announced a remarkable milestone—1,500 successful kidney transplants at its Mohali unit. This achievement reinforces Livasa’s position as a pioneer in renal care and transplantation.
