National Science day-2019 celebrated at Indo Global group of colleges
Indo Global Colleges organized various activities on national Science day like reading Contest on the theme of ‘Communicating Science for All’, Poster making and Quiz competitions. As many as 600 students who participated in various activities of the day To promote and motivate the innovative science studies among the students Chief Guest Dr. Sandeep Singhai, Principal Scientist from CSIO Chandigarh was invited to preside over the function.
He delivered a thought-provoking and expert talk on the theme topic “Women in Science”. He explained how women contributed in diverse fields. He gave contemporary examples where women are serving and playing key role. He enlightened students with his vast knowledge and practical experience. He motivated students to think innovative and design using their own unique creativity. He briefed the audience regarding Intellectual Property Rights and Patent systems too.
Various events were held in the Indo Global Group of colleges like Science Quiz Competition, Poster making Competition and Technical Paper Presentation. In the function special emphasis was laid on inculcating awareness of the relevance of scientific studies in the present technological scenario.
The prizes and momentos were given to the winners. The winners and participants were given certificates and refreshments. The prizes were given by the Chief Guest of the event, Expert Speaker Dr. Sandeep Singhai, Director – College of Architecture Ar. S. S. Shekhon, Principal – College of Engineering Dr. Promila Kaushal, Principal – College of Management Dr. S. P. Ahuja, Principal – College of Architecture Ar. Ruchi Lakhani and Principal – College of Education Dr. Karamjeet Singh.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Rajesh Kumar. The events were judged by Prof. K. C. Bali and Prof. Bhupinder Singh. The Quiz Competition was conducted by Quiz Master Mr. Anuj Sharma. The functioned was successfully coordinated by Er. Summi Goindi and Er. Leena Mahajan along with the team of student volunteers of various engineering departments. The function was concluded with the singing of National Anthem.
