Earlier, on Saturday’s night, Capital Strikers produced a dominant performance to register a convincing nine-wicket victory over Tricity Bashers. Batting first, Tricity Bashers struggled to build momentum and managed only 130 for 5 in 20 overs. Ankit Kaushik top-scored with an unbeaten 59 while Hardik Chaudhary added 27 runs. Sahibjeet Singh starred with the ball by claiming three wickets.In reply, Capital Strikers reached the target at the loss of just one wicket in 13.4 overs. Gurtaj Singh smashed an unbeaten 71 off 41 balls while Nehal Pajni remained unbeaten on 56.

Meanwhile, On the occasion of International Yoga Day, players and officials of the Chandigarh Premier League enthusiastically observed the day by participating in a special yoga session at Tau Devi Lal Stadium. The session was conducted by noted Ayurveda pioneer Acharya Manish in the presence of UTCA founder president Sanjay Tandon.

Players from all four participating teams, along with match officials and members of the league management, took part in the session. Acharya Manish highlighted the numerous benefits of yoga, emphasizing its role in improving physical fitness, mental strength, concentration and overall well-being. He encouraged the players to incorporate yoga into their daily routines to enhance their sporting performance and maintain a balanced lifestyle.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Tandon underlined the importance of yoga in sports and praised the players for embracing the ancient Indian practice with great enthusiasm and discipline. The session concluded on a positive note, promoting the message of fitness, wellness and holistic development among the cricketing fraternity.
