Deputy Commissioner directs sub-registrars, joint-registrars to bring complete transparency in land registration process.Initiates action following complaints of registries without any appointments.
Following the complaints of not complying with the time table of online appointments for registration of land records, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ms. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra has issued strict directions to sub-registrars and joint-registrars, concerned with NGDRS, to bring complete transparency in the land registration process. DC directed that the registries of plots and land should be done in the NGDRS according the online appointments sought by the applicants.
It is pertinent to mention that the district administration has launched the online web portal under National Generic Software for Document Registration (NGDRS) for the online registration of land records in SAS Nagar district on January 8.
Deputy Commissioner said that the project was introduced to trim down the troubles of common people and to bring transparency in the system of revenue records but the violation of online appointment system was leading to troubles for common residents. She added that they have also received some complaints regarding the violation of online appointment system. DC informed that all the record of online registration system was also being sent to Additional chief secretary of Revenue Department Punjab and no inaccuracy will be tolerated regarding the NGDRS system.
Ms. Sapra said that the patients could be exempted from the online appointments but in those types of cases the SRO/JSRO should seek permission from ADC (general). She added that if applicants will not report in their scheduled time frame, the appointment will got cancelled and they will have to seek new appointment through same channel. She also informed that along with Lawyer or Numberdar, Panchayat member and Sarpanch were also entitled for identification purposes but they have to produce Adhaar card for the same
