Special drive against consuming liquor at public place

Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 06 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 06 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 1 case, PS-11 = 1 case, PS-Sarangpur = 1 case, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-ITP = 1 case, PS-MJ = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Three arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested (1) Danvinder Singh R/o # 108 Ward No. 8 Gali No. 3 Vikas Nagar, Naya Gaon, Mohali, (PB) (2) Harmanpreet Singh R/o Village Rajje Wala Distt. Ludhiana, (PB) at road near IRB Complex, Sarangpur, Chandigarh and recovered 10 injections of drugs & 28 bottles of Onerex syrup from their possession on 19.08.2018. A case FIR No. 214, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Gurdeep Singh @ Rompi R/o near Sadhu Karyana Store, Village Dadu Majra, Chandigarh nearDronacharya Stadium, Village Dadu Majra, Chandigarh and recovered 6 gm heroin and 12 injections of drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 178, U/S 21, 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

A case FIR No. 354, U/S 324, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajan R/o Village Jarout, PS Lalru, Tehsil Dera Bassi, Mohali (PB) who alleged that his brother-in-law namely Vikash @ Prince R/o # 1036, Jattan Wala Mohalla, Manimajra, Chandigarh attacked on complainant with sharp weapon at # 1036, Jattan Wala Mohalla, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 12-08-2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Sabir R/o # 2274, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away two mobiles phone, cash Rs 10-12,000/-, one goat from his house i.e H.No. 2274 and also stolen away gold jewelry, LED TV, some cash from H.No. 2488 (owned by Sh. Rajinder Kumar) on night intervening 17/18-08-2018. A case FIR No. 248, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Ramneek Singh R/o # 1405/B, Sector 61, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Complainant’s Bullet M/Cycle No. PB02CQ-4237 while parked near his house on night intervening 18/19-08-2018. A case FIR No. 298, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
