Sh. Sanjay Baniwal inaugurated Composting Pit in Police Lines
Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh inaugurated Composting Pit in Police Lines, for making Organic Manure and tree plantation was conducted in Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh. Thereafter, a seminar on Go Green Police Stations and Go Green Force was organized at GO’s Mess, Police Lines, Sector-26, UT, Chandigarh with the welcome speech of Chief Guest Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh.

Sh. O.P. Mishra, IPS, DIG/UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP/Security & Traffic, UT, Chandigarh, Ms. Nilambari Jagdale, IPS, SSP/UT, Chandigarh. Sh. Santosh Kumar, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. P.C Nautiyal, IFS, Conservator of Forest, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Parmod Sharma, Coordinator, Yuvsatta (an environmental NGO), and all the DSPs & SHOs also attended the seminar.

Sh. Santosh Kumar IFS, Director (Environment) – cum- Chief Conservator of Forest, UT, Chandigarh gave a lecture on Solar power installations in Police Stations and also explained about the advantages of Solar power system. It was also suggested/advised that Police Stations can be made Green by installing Solar System, by making organic manure and by plantation of trees. Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP/UT directed all the SHOs to strive for making police stations Green. Mr. Parmod Sharma, Coordinator, Yuvsatta (an environmental NGO) explained about the composting of organic manure. ‘Palash’ Plants were also distributed to all SHOs by the Chief Guest with the request for the plantation of these plants in their respective Police Station. Seminar was ended with vote of thanks.
