34Cr Investment to Strengthen Power Infrastructure for Reliable, Uninterrupted Supply:VIJ

Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Anil Vij said that a major improvement initiative in the state’s power infrastructure, Rs. 34 crore will be spent on replacing dilapidated transformers, poles, feeders, and repairing hanging or unsafe overhead cables in Ambala. This investment aims to ensure seamless and enhanced power supply to consumers across the region.

The Minister was speaking during his inspection of the newly constructed Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) building located at 12 Cross Road, Ambala Cantonment late Thursday evening. Upon arrival, he was welcomed with floral bouquets by the Superintending Engineer and other officials.

Modern Office to Ensure Ease and Efficiency for Power Consumers
Vij shared that the newly built office replaces the old power corporation building that existed at the same location. The new facility now houses the offices of SDO Sub-Division-1, Sub-Division-2, along with the Executive Engineer (XEN). Dedicated consumer service counters have been established for bill payment and lodging power-related complaints.

“The new infrastructure has been developed with all modern amenities, including a lift and adequate workspace for employees,” he stated. “This will provide tremendous relief to power consumers who earlier had to visit multiple locations for different services.”He further emphasized that the upgraded building will significantly improve public convenience, providing a centralized and streamlined system of service delivery.

Continuous Efforts to Improve Power Services in Haryana The Minister highlighted that the Energy department is working continuously to enhance electricity services in the state. He mentioned that under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, consumers opting for rooftop solar installations are being encouraged with subsidy benefits.

Senior officials present during the inspection included Superintending Engineer Vinod Kumar Goyal, Executive Engineer Vikas Deep Sharma, Ambala Cantonment Municipal Council Vice Chairperson Lalta Prasad, and BJP leaders Ravi Budhiraja, Harsh Bindra, Pravesh Sharma, Sanjeev Soni, B.S. Bindra, Advocate C.S. Bindra, Dr. Longia, Vijay Dhiman, Sunil Nadaria along with other officers and employees of the Energy department.
