Chandigarh: In a proud moment for the UT Cricket Association (UTCA), Chandigarh pacer Nandini Sharma has been selected in the India Women’s squad for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Women’s Asia Cup 2026 scheduled to be held in the UAE from August 28 to September 13, 2026.
Nandini is currently training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru as part of her preparations for the prestigious continental tournament. Earlier this year, Nandini was also named in the India Women’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, held in England. She had previously represented the India A team in the ACC Rising Star Women’s Asia Cup 2026 where her disciplined pace bowling against quality international opposition strengthened her claim for a place in the senior national side.
Over the years, Nandini has represented both Punjab and the UT Cricket Association in BCCI organised tournaments across the Under-19, Under-23 and Senior Women’s categories. She has consistently impressed with her performances in premier domestic competitions, including the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal Tournament, Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy, and the Senior Women’s One-Day Challenger Trophy.
She also enjoyed an impressive campaign with Delhi Capitals Women in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, emerging as one of the team’s leading bowlers.
Congratulating Nandini on her selection, UTCA President Saransh Tandon said, “Nandini’s dedication, discipline and hard work have earned her this well-deserved opportunity. Her journey is an inspiration for aspiring cricketers, especially young girls, who dream of representing India. We are confident she will make the nation proud with her performances in the Asia Cup.”
