Govt College of Yoga Edu & Health hosts ‘Yogsangam 2026’ Countdown Prog

Government College of Yoga Education and Health organized a countdown programme “Yogsangam 2026” in the college premises today as a prelude to the 12th International Day of Yoga. The event commenced at 5:30 a.m. and saw enthusiastic participation from around 350 people, including students, faculty, and yoga enthusiasts.

          Sourabh Arora, PCS, Director, Sports and AYUSH Department, U.T. Chandigarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. At the beginning of the event, the gathering took the Voter Pledge as part of the Special Intensive Revision Drive 2026. He also felicitated distinguished yoga NGO heads for their contribution in the field of yoga, namely R.R. Passi and  Sudha Rana from Patanjali, and independent yoga instructors Parvinder Kohli and Ashu Pratap.

          Principal Dr. Mahender Singh welcomed the Chief Guest and delegates. The entire programme was coordinated under the guidance of Sarghi Kohli and Dr. Sumant Batish, Organising Secretaries.

          A special highlight of the event was the felicitation of two students, Dev and Ms. Anushka Sharma, who brought laurels to Chandigarh by winning gold medals at the World Yogasana Championship 2026 held at Amdavad, Gujarat.

          The programme concluded with a collective pledge to promote yoga for health and harmony.
