Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday announced that a grand Somnath Yatra will be organised from the state on June 8, 2026, stating that the Somnath Temple stands as a symbol of India’s eternal faith, rich cultural heritage and the resurgence of national self-respect.

Addressing a function under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana at Kurukshetra Railway Station, the Chief Minister flagged off a special pilgrimage train to Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, and interacted with the pilgrims, conveying his best wishes for a safe and spiritually enriching journey.

Referring to the Government of India’s initiative, he said that under the “Somnath Swabhimaan Parv”, a year-long national commemoration will be observed till January 11, 2027. He called upon pilgrims to imbibe the teachings of Guru Sahib in their lives, stating that the true success of such journeys lies in practicing the values of service, sacrifice and righteousness.

Highlighting the spiritual significance of the initiative, the Chief Minister said that the special train serves as a symbolic bridge between Kurukshetra,  the land where Lord Krishna delivered the message of the Bhagavad Gita and Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, the sacred site where  Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji attained ‘Joti Jot’. He said this initiative reflects the continuous and vibrant flow of India’s spiritual traditions.

Emphasising the broader role of pilgrimage, he stated that such initiatives not only strengthen religious faith but also promote social harmony and connect the younger generation with their cultural roots. He credited Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for giving unprecedented impetus to the preservation and promotion of India’s religious and cultural heritage, citing key initiatives such as the development of heritage circuits under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme and the inauguration of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.

The Chief Minister recalled that the Prime Minister had paid tribute to  Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at a state-level function in Kurukshetra and released commemorative coins, stamps and a coffee table book in his honour. He further said that December 26 is observed annually as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ in memory of the Sahibzadas of  Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, reflecting the nation’s deep respect for their sacrifice.

Providing details of the pilgrimage, he informed that more than 800 pilgrims from nine districts are undertaking the journey, with comprehensive arrangements made for their safety, security, food and overall comfort.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive access, the Chief Minister said that special provisions have been made to ensure that elderly citizens and economically weaker sections are not deprived of pilgrimage opportunities due to financial constraints. Financial assistance is being provided under various schemes for visits to major pilgrimage destinations, including Sindhu Darshan, Kailash Mansarovar and prominent Sikh shrines such as Sri Hazur Sahib,  Sri Hemkund Sahib, Sri Nankana Sahib and Sri Patna Sahib.

He further informed that under the Swarna Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Yojana, financial assistance is being extended to pilgrims visiting key Sikh religious sites. He also highlighted that the state government has taken several steps to support religious institutions, including the allotment of land to Gurdwara Sri Chilla Sahib, Sirsa, and the naming of public infrastructure after revered Guru Sahibans.

Several dignitaries, including public representatives and senior officials, were present on the occasion.

Development of women is key to achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’: CM Nayab Singh Saini

When women are empowered, the nation will reach new heights: Chief Minister

CM visits Exhibition on Women Empowerment; hostel to be built at KU for researchers and international students

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday inaugurated a seminar and exhibition on the theme “Empowered Women, Empowered Society, Empowered Nation,” jointly organized by Kurukshetra University and the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department at Kurukshetra University. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the dream of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ can be realized only through the development of women. When women are empowered, the nation will scale new heights.

He said that Kurukshetra is the land where Lord Shri Krishna guided Arjuna by delivering the message of the Gita during the Mahabharata, showing the path of duty and righteousness. The war of Mahabharata was not merely for power, but against injustice. The insult of a woman conveyed to society that remaining silent in the face of injustice is also unrighteous. He said that even today, society must raise its voice against injustice by following this ideology.

Earlier, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited the women empowerment exhibition set up at the Crush Hall and inaugurated the seminar at the auditorium by lighting the ceremonial lamp followed by the Vande Mataram. On this occasion, he also released the seminar souvenir prepared by the Public Relations Department and the souvenir of the art festival.

Describing women as the cornerstone of nation-building, the Chief Minister said that the dream of a developed India cannot be fulfilled unless women are empowered. He emphasized the need to strengthen four key pillars of Viksit Bharat—women, farmers, youth, and the poor. He said that strengthening farmers strengthens the foundation of the nation, while youth should be encouraged to become job creators rather than job seekers. Empowering the poor is also a priority in nation-building.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several concrete steps have been taken for women’s empowerment. There was a time when families hesitated to send daughters far away for education, and many girls were deprived of studies due to safety concerns. Understanding this issue, a comprehensive roadmap was prepared, and now colleges have been established within a radius of every 20 kilometers so that girls do not have to travel far and can study in a safe environment. Today, the results are visible—girls are studying freely, progressing, and fulfilling their dreams. Through self-help groups, women’s incomes have increased significantly, with many earning in lakhs, strengthening both their confidence and social standing.

He said that in 2023, important steps like the “Nari Shakti Vandan” initiative have been taken to ensure women’s participation. Referring to history, he cited examples of great women such as Rani Lakshmi Bai, Gargi, Maitreyi, and Jijabai, stating that women have always been the foundation of strength, knowledge, and values. Today, women are making remarkable contributions in fields like IT, healthcare, engineering, and space, bringing global recognition to the country.

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Somnath Sachdeva welcomed the guests and said that women’s role is crucial and decisive in building a strong society and nation. He noted that in the context of the “Nari Shakti Vandan Act,” the topic becomes even more relevant, as women’s representation in Parliament and Assemblies is still below expectations relative to their population. Policies made without women’s perspectives remain incomplete. He explained three key concepts—equality, equity, and inclusivity—stating that equality means equal rights, equity means fair opportunities based on need, and inclusivity means taking everyone along. While the Constitution ensures equality, achieving equity and inclusivity on the ground still requires effort. The “Nari Shakti Vandan Act” is an important step in this direction to strengthen women’s political participation.

Women’s hostel for 300 researchers to be built at KU

The Chief Minister said that a modern hostel with a capacity of around 300 research scholars and international women students will be constructed at Kurukshetra University. The three-storey hostel will have rooms with attached bathrooms and all modern facilities.

8 sewing machines distributed to rural women for training

On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed sewing and embroidery machines to 8 rural women who received training through camps organized by the Women’s Studies Research Centre, with support from the Kurukshetra University Alumni Association. It is noteworthy that the Centre has established training centres in several villages to promote self-reliance among rural women. The districts includes—Gurugram, Ambala, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Panipat, Palwal, Sirsa, Sonipat, and Yamunanagar—have been identified based on their proximity to rivers and canals and past vulnerability to floods. She said the exercise aims to strengthen inter-agency coordination, assess preparedness levels, and identify gaps in logistics and response mechanisms ahead of the monsoon.

Keeping in view the hot weather condition in coming days, Dr. Misra said a comprehensive health advisory is already in force across all districts in view of rising temperatures and forecasts of above-normal heat. All government health facilities, including hospitals, CHCs, and PHCs, have been directed to maintain adequate stocks of ORS, IV fluids, ice packs, and essential emergency equipment, while dedicated heatstroke management units are being set up at district-level institutions. Daily surveillance of heat-related illnesses is being centrally monitored, and the “Cool First, Transport Second” protocol has been implemented across ambulance services. Former CM Manohar Lal brought systemic change with the change of power in 2014: Harvinder Kalyan

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan and Industries Minister Rao Narbir Singh launch the song ‘Rajneeti Ke Sant – Manohar Lal’ on the birthday of Union Minister Manohar Lal

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan said that individuals like Union Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal are rarely seen in politics, who dedicate their lives to the welfare of all sections of society with the spirit of Antyodaya. He said the foundation of systemic change laid by Manohar Lal, in 2014, along with the change of power in Haryana, has ensured that government schemes are now reaching the last person in the queue.

He said this while launching a song titled ‘Rajneeti Ke Sant – Manohar Lal’, based on the life of Sh. Manohar Lal, at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh, on the occasion of his birthday. A poster of the song was also unveiled on the occasion. The song has been written by Dr. Naveen Lamba and sung by Naveen Poonia. It has been produced by LHF (Ladwa Handball Foundation).

Haryana’s Industries & Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh was also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the launch, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan said that the song conveys a message about how an individual’s life should be lived. He said that when Sh. Narendra Modi assumed office at the Centre and Manohar Lal took charge in Haryana in 2014; the condition of the country and the state was not good. However, at the national level, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and at the state level, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal brought about fundamental changes in the system and ensured that the rights of the deprived sections reached them.

He said that after becoming Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal eradicated corruption in jobs and transfers and implemented a transparent recruitment system along with an online transfer policy. Before 2014, it was unimaginable for children to get jobs without “kharchi-parchi”. Due to his policies, today, children from poor families are able to secure jobs up to the HCS level without money or recommendations.

Harvinder Kalyan said that Manohar Lal established good governance in Haryana, and following his policies, the present Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini is taking the state forward. He added that the current Central and State governments will fulfill the vision of making India a developed nation.

Rao Narbir Singh said in his 40 years of political career, he has seen many governments change. He credited Manohar Lal for the way the BJP government formed in 2014 worked with the spirit of “Ek Haryana, Ek Haryanvi.” He said that his life is a living example of a saint becoming an efficient administrator. Before 2014, people had to make rounds of Chandigarh for their children’s jobs, but after the implementation of a fair recruitment policy, hundreds of children from poor families in every village got jobs, which no one had expected.

Rao Narbir Singh said that due to some reasons, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini could not attend the programme personally, but he had sent his message. He read out the Chief Minister’s message and conveyed birthday greetings and best wishes to Manohar Lal.

On this occasion, Sarpanch Ramphal Poonia and several other dignitaries were present.

Haryana CM Announces Grand Somnath Yatra from June 8, 2026

Haryana becomes the first state in the northern region to start free Single Donor Platelets for dengue patients in government hospitals- Nayab Singh Saini

Chief Minister extends birthday greetings to Union Minister Manohar Lal

Union Minister Manohar Lal’s life is a source of inspiration for all, says CM

Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana has become the first state in the northern region to initiate free Single Donor Platelets for dengue patients in government hospitals. Dengue patients are also provided reimbursement of Rs. 11,000. A total of 154 blood centers are currently operational in the state.

The government surpassed last year’s target by collecting more than 4.5 lakh units of blood against the target of 3.3 lakh units. Haryana has also received the Blood Donation Excellence Award from the Government of India for the second consecutive year for the highest blood donation in 2024–25, he said.

The Chief Minister was addressing a programme organized in Ladwa, Kurukshetra, on Tuesday on the occasion of the birthday of Union Minister for Power and Housing, Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by the  Vice Chairperson of Haryana State Child Welfare Council, Suman Saini and former Minister of State Subhash Sudha also offered prayers and participated in the Havan Yagya. He later inaugurated the blood donation camp by cutting the ribbon and honored blood donors with badges and certificates.

The Chief Minister expressed happiness at being present among people at the blood donation camp organized on the sacred land of Kurukshetra on the occasion of the Union Minister’s birthday. Extending birthday greetings to Sh. Manohar Lal, the Chief Minister, said that his life is an inspiration for all. He added that throughout his political and social life, he has always given top priority to service, transparency, and public welfare. Organizing a blood donation camp on his birthday is a true reflection of his values.

He said that Indian culture and scriptures emphasize that service to humanity is service to God, and blood donation is the highest example of this feeling. When a person donates blood, they not only save a life but also bring hope and happiness to a family on the verge of losing a loved one.

The Chief Minister emphasized that blood donation is superior to any other form of charity as it is directly linked to saving lives. Despite significant scientific advancements, no artificial substitute for blood has been developed, which highlights that one human being remains essential for saving another’s life, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the demand for blood has increased rapidly. Whether it is accident victims, cancer patients, individuals undergoing major surgeries, or children suffering from diseases like thalassemia and hemophilia, all depend on blood for survival. Statistics indicate that in India, someone needs blood every two seconds, and one out of every ten hospitalized patients requires blood. This is a serious situation that demands collective efforts. He stated that aware and dedicated citizens can help bridge this gap, and even a small initiative can bring a new beginning in someone’s life.

Nayab Singh Saini further said that according to medical science, a healthy individual between the ages of 18 and 65 can safely donate blood. It has no negative impact on the body; rather, it encourages the formation of new blood. Therefore, misconceptions must be removed, and awareness must be spread. He added that the Haryana Government is continuously working to modernize healthcare facilities, promote voluntary blood donation, and ensure the quality of blood bank services.

He said that with the support of blood donors, free blood is being provided in the state to patients suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, HIV-positive cases, pregnant women, and people suffering from anaemia. In addition, free blood is also provided to patients admitted in government hospitals. This has been made possible due to the relentless efforts of aware citizens.

The Chief Minister further said that the youth in Haryana not only organize blood donation camps but also inspire a spirit of service among people. Such work cannot be achieved by the government alone; it requires participation from all sections of society. When government and society work together, a healthy, safe, and strong society can be built.

Appealing to the youth, the Chief Minister urged them to donate blood regularly and motivate others to do the same, stating that their contribution is vital in building a healthy society. Several dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Making Haryana free from stray cattle is government’s priority: CM Nayab Singh Saini

CM Nayab Singh Saini distributes fodder grant cheques worth ₹70.24 lakh to 11 registered gaushalas

₹8 crore already released for Gau Abhayaarany to be built in Nain and Dhandoor villages

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that making the state free from stray cattle is a top priority of the government. For this, two Gau Abhayaarany have been established—one in village Nain in Panipat district and the other in village Dhandoor in Hisar district. These Gau Abhayaarany have been equipped with sheds, water, and fodder facilities. An amount of ₹8 crore has already been released for them.

He said that for the rehabilitation of stray cattle, a provision has been made in the financial year 2025–26 to grant ₹10 lakh per gaushala for constructing sheds in 51 gaushalas. Out of these, grants have already been provided to 21 gaushalas. Similarly, the Haryana Gau Vansh Research Centre has been established at Sukhdarshanpur, Panchkula for research and development of Panchgavya-based products.

The Chief Minister was addressing a fodder grant distribution ceremony at Shri Krishna Gau Shala Society in Ladwa, Kurukshetra on Tuesday. Along with Haryana State Child Welfare Council Vice Chairperson Smt. Suman Saini, he performed Gau Pooja at the gaushala. He distributed cheques amounting to ₹70.24 lakh as fodder grant to 11 registered gaushalas of Ladwa and Thanesar constituencies.

He said that such events are connected with our culture, service, and spirit of dedication. Today, he again got the opportunity to serve Gau Mata. Including today’s grant, a total of ₹228.58 crore has been released as fodder grant for 619 registered gaushalas across the state in the financial year 2025–26. Over the past eleven and a quarter years, ₹526.45 crore has been provided as fodder grant to registered cow shelters.

He said that the Vedas extensively describe the importance of cows. Our scriptures and Puranas consider cows as the foundation of prosperity, peace, and life. Gau Seva, Gau Palan, and Gau Raksha have been mentioned in various forms in our religious texts. Since ancient times, cows have been revered in India. According to mythology, all deities reside in the cow. It is also said that Kamdhenu, the divine cow, emerged as one of the fourteen treasures during the Samudra Manthan.

The Chief Minister said that the government has taken several important steps for the development of gaushalas, conservation of cattle, and promotion of natural farming. In the Budget 2026–27, a provision has been made to open seven new government veterinary dispensaries in Musnota, Nangal Jat, Shiv Gau Shala (Madlauda), Mor Kheri, Baloli, Dahima, and Gau Abhayaarany (Nain). In addition, four new government veterinary hospitals will be opened in Kari Adu, Dhundhwa, Mohamadpur Ahir, and Mamaria Asampur.

He said that before 2014, there were 215 registered gaushalas in Haryana with only 1.75 lakh cattle. Today, there are 697 registered gaushalas with more than 4 lakh stray cattle being taken cared of.

He added that solar energy plants have been installed in 330 registered gaushalas. In the year 2026–27, all registered cow shelters will be converted into solar-powered campuses. The government is providing electricity to gaushalas at ₹2 per unit. Earlier, a 1% stamp duty was charged on land registration for cow shelters, but now new gaushalas are exempted from stamp duty.

He said that arrangements have been made for veterinary check-ups of cattle in gaushalas. In shelters housing more than 3,000 cattle, veterinarians are deputed once a week, while in shelters with fewer cattle, VLDA staff are deputed weekly. Mobile veterinary services are also being provided.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need to conserve and promote indigenous cow breeds. In this direction, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Rashtriya Gokul Mission’. Cattle rearers of indigenous breeds like Haryana, Sahiwal, and Belahi cows are being given incentives ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 based on milk production capacity. Efforts are also being made to improve the breeds of cattle housed in gaushalas.

He said that a provision has been made to provide incentives for bringing stray cattle from roads to gaushalas —₹300 per calf, ₹600 per cow, and ₹800 per bull. A budget of ₹4 crore has been approved for this purpose.

The government is also working to make gaushalas self-reliant. These shelters are producing products like natural phenyl, organic manure rich in phosphate, utensils made from cow dung, natural paint, pots, diyas, incense sticks, soap, and other items from cow dung and urine. Financial assistance has been provided to 101 gaushalas for purchasing machinery for Panchgavya-based products.
