Honda ushers Dussehra with Road Safety drive for school children

Reaffirming its resolve to make Indian roads safer, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. rolled out a nationwide Road-Safety awareness drive for school children inspired by the festival of ‘good over evil’ – Dussehra.

The road safety education drive targeted school children between 5th to 7th standard across the country for imparting safety habits with a vision to make roads safer.

The drive aimed at enhancing safety awareness through school children by making them Safety Champs of the society. Honda strives to sensitize school children on top 10 road safety habits in respect to all aspects starting from pedestrian to a rider.

Mixing fun with road safety training, this Dussehra children from different schools across India visited the traffic training park in their city.

They were mentored on road safety through various unique activities like role play activity with Ravana as mascot, drawing competition on theme – ‘Dussehra-Win of Good over Evil’ & ‘HelmetOnLifeOn’, cycling with riding gear, primary riding training and riding CRF50 motorcycle. For further encouragement, prizes were distributed to winners and participation mementos given to children & schools.

Speaking on the significance of road safety, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Dussehra is celebrated in various forms across India but with a common belief which marks the victory of good over evil.

Road accidents is one of the leading causes of unnatural deaths in India, an evil which can be defeated with increased awareness on Road safety.

On this auspicious occasion, Honda is thrilled to take-up this initiative while contributing to build safer society with young Safety Champs of India!”
