
Marking World Cancer Day, Paras Health Panchkula organised a comprehensive cancer awareness and engagement The hospital reported diagnosing and treating 1,204 cancer cases between January 2025 and January 2026 in Panchkula, highlighting the growing need for awareness, early screening, and accessible oncology care at the community level.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Manpreet Singh Sudan, IPS, DCP (Crime & Traffic), Panchkula, Haryana, Kulbhushan Goyal, Mayor, Panchkula and Ms. Seema Chaudhary, Former Mayor, Panchkula. The programme underscored the growing importance of community-led initiatives in addressing India’s rising cancer burden through early detection and informed care pathways, reflecting strong administrative and civic support for public health outreach.
Oncology team from Paras Health Panchkula including Dr. (Brig) Rajeshwar Singh (Director- Oncology), Dr. Ajay Sharma (Director & HOD Oncology), Dr.Chitresh Aggarwal (Associate Director- Oncology), Dr.Rajan Sahu (Associate Director- Oncology), Dr. Jagandeep Virk (Senior Consultant- Orthopaedic Oncology & Joint Replacement Surgery), Dr. Ishaan Allahabadi (Senior Consultant- Surgical Oncology), Dr. Romeeta Trehan (Senior Consultant- Radiation Oncology) conducted medical sessions focusing on cancer awareness, advances in oncology care, and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to improving patient outcomes. More than 50 cancer survivors joined the event, inspiring all present by sharing their deeply personal journeys of courage and perseverance.
Sharing his perspective, Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Facility Director, Paras Health Panchkula, said, “World Cancer Day reminds us that the fight against cancer goes beyond hospitals. One of the most impactful moments of the programme was the sharing of cancer survivor experiences, offering hope and motivation to patients and caregivers. The initiative concluded with Paras Health Panchkula reaffirming its commitment to expanding cancer awareness, reducing stigma, and strengthening access to quality oncology services across Haryana and neighbouring regions.
