The UTCA Women’s Domestic Cricket Tournament kicked off at GMSSS-26 on Sunday.
In the opening match, Rock Zone edged past Rose Zone by three wickets in a last-over thriller. After opting to bat, Rose Zone posted a modest total of 118/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Jyoti Kumari remained unbeaten on 26 while Kavya Dhingra (3/25) impressed with the ball.
In response, Rock Zone overcame early setbacks to chase down the target with three balls to spare and finished at 121/7. Urvashi Saini (31) and Tanishqa Rana (29) led the recovery and ensured the win.
In the second match of the day, Sukhna Zone registered a commanding 35-run win over Terrace Zone. Batting first, Sukhna Zone put up a strong total of 147/1 with Sarah Mahajan contributing a solid 35. In reply, the Terrace Zone was restricted to 112/9. .
