Sanjay Tandon, Founder President of the UT Cricket Association (UTCA) and Member of the BCCI Governing Council (WPL), paid a day-long visit to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru to study its world-class infrastructure and training facilities. He was accompanied by Keshav Narayan, Facility Manager at the Centre of Excellence.
The visit assumes significance as the BCCI has recently approved the establishment of a state-of-the-art indoor cricket facility for the UT Cricket Association in Chandigarh. The proposed centre is expected to transform cricket training infrastructure in the region and provide aspiring cricketers with access to international-standard facilities.
During his visit, Tandon undertook a detailed review of various sections of the Centre of Excellence. He reviewed the indoor and outdoor practice areas, all-weather training pitches, international-standard playing fields, high-performance gymnasium, swimming and recovery pool, sports science and rehabilitation facilities, modern dressing rooms, seating arrangements, advanced bowling machines, body composition scanner, strength and conditioning equipment, physiotherapy and recovery zones, as well as video analysis and performance assessment systems. He also interacted with officials to understand the operational and maintenance aspects of the facility.
Tandon also met UTCA’s players Jaskirat Singh Mehra and Kashvee Gautam at the centre.
Sharing his experience, Tandon said, “It is truly inspiring to witness the world-class infrastructure developed by the BCCI at the Centre of Excellence. The facility represents the highest standards of cricket training and sports science. Our visit has provided valuable insights into several features and best practices that can be incorporated into the upcoming indoor cricket facility in Chandigarh.”
