Haryana Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that with the objective of providing modern digital facilities to workers and employers, the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has developed a mobile application named “ShramMitra”, which will be launched very soon. This application will prove to be a historic initiative towards transforming the traditional “Labour Chowk” system into a modern digital platform. Providing details in this regard, Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that workers will no longer need to stand daily at labour chowks in search of work. Through the “ShramMitra” app, workers will be able to view employment opportunities and apply for jobs from their homes using their mobile phones according to their qualifications, experience and skills. At the same time, employers will also be able to easily and quickly find verified workers according to their work requirements. He said that detailed information about construction workers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, welders, painters and other skilled and unskilled workers will be available on this digital platform. Workers will also be able to share details of their work experience and skills on the App, making it easier for employers to find suitable workers. Sh. Vij said that the main objective of the “ShramMitra” app is to digitize and organize the unorganized labour market. Through this platform, workers and employers will be connected in real time, dependence on middlemen will be reduced, and a safe and verified recruitment process will be ensured. In addition, workers will also get direct access to government schemes, training programmes and skill development-related facilities. He said that the App will promote transparency, dignity and efficiency in the labour sector. Modern features such as live chat and push notifications will be available in the App, enabling direct communication between workers and employers. Job alerts, work opportunities and important information will be instantly available on mobile phones. Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij informed that through this application, workers will be able to avail various facilities including searching and applying for nearby construction jobs and employment opportunities, receiving job alerts and notifications, directly communicating with employers through live chat, and accessing information about government welfare schemes and training programmes. Similarly, employers will be able to post their job requirements on the platform, search for skilled and unskilled workers, verify worker profiles, and establish instant contact with workers through voice notes and other communication features. He further said that the government and administration will also benefit from this App by being able to monitor labour demand and supply, assess the utilization of schemes, and make policy decisions based on real-time data. Sh. Vij said that the “ShramMitra” app will ensure long-term benefits for both workers and employers. Employers will benefit from a fast and easy recruitment process, access to verified and skilled workers, reduced dependence on middlemen, and better workforce planning through digital records. On the other hand, workers will no longer be compelled to stand daily at labour chowks, they will get equal employment opportunities, relief from exploitation by middlemen, and direct access to government schemes and skill development programmes. He said that the Haryana Government is continuously working for the welfare, dignity and economic empowerment of workers. The “ShramMitra” App will prove to be a major transformative step towards making the labour sector digital, safe and well-organized. This initiative will bring positive change in the lives of lakhs of workers in the state and provide them with new employment opportunities while connecting them with the Digital India campaign. Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij expressed confidence that this application will play a significant role in establishing Haryana among the leading states of the country in the field of labour welfare and digital labour management.
