No. IPRDH/2026 Government to Launch E-Auction Portal for Sale of Agroforestry Trees for Farmers: Sudhir Rajpal Decision Taken in the 146th Board Meeting of Haryana Forest Development Corporation (HFDC) Chandigarh, April 18 – The Haryana Government will launch an e-auction portal to enable farmers to sell agroforestry trees grown on their fields, such as eucalyptus and poplar, through the Haryana Forest Development Corporation (HFDC). This initiative is expected to help farmers secure better prices by eliminating intermediaries. The decision was taken in the 146th meeting of the Board of Directors of HFDC. The meeting was chaired by Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest Department and Chairman of HFDC. During the meeting, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Managing Director, K. C. Meena, presented the proposal. As per the plan, farmers willing to use the HFDC e-auction portal will submit an application to the concerned General Manager. Subsequently, field offices of the Corporation will assess and mark the standing trees and determine a reserve price based on their volume. Farmers will also have the option to set their own reserve price. The tree volume details will then be uploaded on the e-auction portal. After the auction, the bid amount will be communicated to the farmer, and if the farmer agrees to the price, HFDC will charge only a 5 percent service fee. The remaining amount will be transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account through online mode. The scheme will also be open to institutions, for which a service fee of 10 percent will be applicable. Sh. Sudhir Rajpal stated that the objective of the government is to ensure that farmers receive the maximum value for their produce. Through this e-auction system, farmers and institutions are expected to benefit from better price discovery, elimination of middlemen, increased transparency, and access to a wider pool of buyers. He added that HFDC has framed comprehensive rules to safeguard the financial interests of farmers and institutions. He further said that this system is likely to increase farmers’ income by up to 25 percent. People from a particular region are not given undue preference; instead, jobs are now given transparently without ‘Parchi Kharchi’. Nayab Sarkar has established a system that serves as a model. With this transparent and fair employment system, the trust of the youth in the government has significantly increased, said Sh. Amit Shah. Addressing the gathering after unveiling the grand statue of Maharaja Agrasen at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha Hisar, the Union Home Minister expressed happiness upon visiting Haryana and said that unveiling the statue of Maharaja Agrasen was a great honor for him. He also paid tribute to Guru Angad Dev ji, remembering his martyrdom and the sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus for the nation. Sh. Amit Shah said that today marks the death anniversary of the late O.P. Jindal. He said that following his vision, Agroha Medical College is dedicated to public service. This hospital reflects his compassion-driven approach before business. Around 5 lakh people avail OPD services here. This institution has established a distinct place in the healthcare sector, and he hopes that in the future, patients will receive even better facilities through modern methods. *Remembering the Era of Maharaja Agrasen* The Union Home Minister, while recalling the reign of Maharaja Agrasen, said that he had a visionary approach. From the Mahabharata era to the present day, he established a unique system of governance. 5,300 years ago, he laid the foundation of the idea that anyone who came to his city would become wealthy, have their own home, and live a dignified life. His vision was to nurture the values of the state, ensuring that no one in his kingdom went hungry, remained homeless, or was deprived of a means of livelihood, he said. Sh. Amit Shah further stated that Maharaja Agrasen established principles of good governance, and Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is following the same path. The government's vision is to uplift every section of society. In this direction, crores of people have been provided housing facilities. Ration was provided to 81 crore needy people and gas cylinders were provided to 11 crore people. Similarly, toilets were built for the convenience of women. The government is also working towards generating employment through cooperatives. Over the past ten years, there has been a significant transformation, shared the Union Home Minister. *Haryana has set a new benchmark in Development* The Union Home Minister said that before the elections, he had asked Sh. Nayab Singh Saini to do 22 important public welfare initiatives. At that time, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini assured him that they would be accomplished, and he had already completed them within just two and a half months. He said that wherever a ‘double-engine sarkar’ is formed, people often question how such rapid development is possible. Responding to this, he emphasized that the BJP believes in politics based on principles. Sh. Amit Shah shared that during the 10 years of the UPA government, Haryana received Rs. 41,000 crore from the Centre for development, whereas under the BJP-led central government, the state has received Rs. 1,43,000 crore. Haryana has set a new benchmark in Development, said the Union Home Minister. The Union Home Minister highlighted that Haryana is the first state where 24 crops are procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP). Ownership rights are being granted to those residing in Lal Dora. Additionally, not a single Sarpanch in Haryana is illiterate. Haryana is also the first state where 50 percent of the seats in Panchayats have been reserved for women. Whether it is ensuring the availability of clean drinking water or providing gas cylinders in every household to create a smoke-free Haryana, the credit goes to this state, said Sh. Amit Shah. The Union Home Minister said that along with Haryana's GDP growth, efforts are being made to enhance public amenities, implement schemes for the upliftment of the poor, and drive infrastructure development forward. *In the next 5 years, there will not be a single district in the country without a medical college– Union Home Minister* The Union Home Minister said that the central government is committed to strengthening and improving healthcare services. As part of this effort, in the next 5 years, there will not be a single district in the country without a medical college. He said that work is already underway to establish a medical college in every district of BJP-ruled states. Additionally, the number of seats in medical education will be increased in the coming days, he said. Sh. Amit Shah emphasized that under the holistic approach of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s leadership, the central government has undertaken significant initiatives for the country’s healthcare sector. He highlighted that providing gas cylinders to women was a crucial step for their health, as earlier, exposure to smoke from traditional stoves would severely damage their lungs within 25 years. The government introduced gas cylinders to eliminate this issue. Similarly, sanitation facilities were provided through toilet construction. This was followed by initiatives such as the Yoga Mission, Fit India Movement, and the Nutrition Campaign. The Mission Indradhanush programme was launched to enhance children's immunity. Additionally, schemes like Ayushman Bharat and the Jal Jeevan Mission have been implemented to further improve healthcare services across the country, shared Sh. Amit Shah. *Strengthening Medical Infrastructure* Sh. Amit Shah said that the central government is making significant efforts to enhance the country's medical infrastructure. A total of Rs. 64,000 crore has been spent on improving public and community health center infrastructure. During Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi's tenure, the number of AIIMS in the country has increased to 23. When Sh. Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, there were only seven AIIMS, six of which were established during Atal Ji's tenure. In contrast, only one AIIMS was built during the Congress rule, said the Union Home Minister. He said that similarly, the number of medical colleges has doubled, increasing from 387 to 766. There has also been a substantial rise in medical seats. He said that in the near future, 85,000 more MBBS seats will be added, bringing the total number of medical seats to 2 lakh. Correspondingly, the number of paramedical seats will also be increased, said the Union Home Minister.
