    Under the leadership of Haryana Energy Minister Sh. Anil Vij, the state's power utilities continue to achieve significant milestones in the energy sector. The Minister has been placing special emphasis on the effective implementation of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, regularly reviewing its progress and providing necessary directions to senior officials of the New and Renewable Energy Department and power distribution companies. As a result of these sustained efforts, Haryana has earned national recognition for its outstanding performance under the flagship solar energy scheme. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, has selected Haryana for honours in three categories during the national event titled “PM Surya Ghar Excellence Awards”, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on June 4, 2025. The awards are being conferred in recognition of Haryana’s exceptional performance during the “Month of Solar” campaign conducted in May 2026, under the PM Surya Ghar Excellence Awards. Haryana will receive awards in the three categories, in which included Month of Solar – Maximum Consumer Applications: Third Position with 17,142 applications, Month of Solar – Maximum Solar Installations: Second Position with 11,983 installations and Month of Solar – Maximum DISCOM Inspections (UHBVN & DHBVN): Third Position with 12,514 inspections. This achievement reflects the visionary leadership of the Haryana Government and the dedicated efforts of the Energy Department, Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), field-level officials, and implementation partners. It may be noted that the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana was launched in February 2024 with the ambitious goal of installing rooftop solar systems in one crore households across the country by March 2027. Currently, more than 40 lakh families nationwide have benefited from the scheme, while over 32 lakh rooftop solar systems have already been installed. In Haryana alone, 86,152 rooftop solar systems have been installed so far. The state has set a target of installing 2.20 lakh rooftop solar systems by March 31, 2027. Efforts are being accelerated to ensure that more households adopt clean energy solutions and benefit from reduced electricity bills. A delegation of officials associated with the PM Surya Ghar scheme will receive the awards on behalf of the Haryana Government at the national event. This recognition is being viewed as a significant endorsement of Haryana’s efforts to promote renewable energy, strengthen energy self-reliance, and accelerate the adoption of clean and green energy across the state.

    Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the double-engine government remains committed to safeguarding the dignity and rights of the Dhanak community. Protecting the rights of the community, ensuring a better future for its children and helping it scale new heights remain among the government's highest priorities. The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting with representatives of the Dhanak community in Chandigarh. Representatives from Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab also participated in the meeting. Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Sant Kabir Jayanti would be celebrated in Bhiwani on June 29. He said he would also participate in Jayanti celebrations to be organised in Abohar and Ludhiana in Punjab. He said every problem faced by the community would be resolved under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi. 63 Sankalps Fulfilled, Work Underway on 153 More The Chief Minister said all the Sankalps made by the BJP government would be fulfilled by 2029. He said 63 Sankalps had already been fulfilled, while work on 153 others was progressing at a rapid pace. He said the history of the Dhanak community is one of self-respect, sacrifice and nation-building. Whether it was the country's freedom struggle, social reform movements or the ongoing journey towards a developed India, the community has remained at the forefront on every front. The Chief Minister said the time had come to further strengthen the voice of social justice, self-respect and rights. Describing the community as torchbearers of the legacy of Sant Kabir Das, he said the strength of the community lies in the labour of its hands, the sweat on its brow and its determination to move forward. He said this is the community's true strength and heritage. Sant Kabir Das had similarly emphasised that labour is the greatest foundation of dignity and respect. They made tall promises during elections, but when it came to ensuring rights, they offered nothing beyond assurances. He said the double-engine government in Haryana takes concrete decisions in the interest of society and the nation. He said the government understood the concerns of those sections within the Scheduled Castes that had remained deprived. Therefore, during the Assembly elections, it had promised in its Sankalp Patra to classify reservation for Scheduled Castes into Deprived Scheduled Castes and Other Scheduled Castes, and that commitment had now been implemented on the ground. The Chief Minister said that out of the 20 per cent reservation earmarked for Scheduled Castes in government services, 10 per cent had been specifically reserved for Deprived Scheduled Castes. He described it as a historic step towards social justice. Babasaheb was not only the Architect of the Constitution but also of the Aspirations of Crores of the Deprived The Chief Minister said whenever the rights of the poor, deprived and exploited sections of society are discussed, the towering personality of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar comes to the forefront. Babasaheb was not only the architect of the Constitution but also the architect of the dreams and aspirations of crores of deprived citizens. Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said Dr. Ambedkar ensured through the Constitution that every individual enjoys equal rights, equal opportunities and the right to live with dignity. His message of "Educate, Agitate and Organise" continues to serve as a guiding principle for the progress of any society. He added that the Prime Minister had imbibed the same spirit and given the nation the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’. The Chief Minister said the Prime Minister had ensured that the benefits of welfare schemes reached the homes of the poor. Today, children from poor families are becoming doctors, engineers and civil servants. This transformation, he said, had come not merely through policies but through intent. Highlighting employment opportunities, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said 604 youth from the DSC community had been recruited into the Haryana Police. He said while the Congress had only announced the allotment of 100-square-yard plots, the present government had provided ownership papers as well as possession of plots to beneficiaries who had remained deprived during the Congress regime. He said the BJP government had separately allotted 100-square-yard plots to 16,500 needy families and linked these beneficiaries with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Houses were constructed on these plots and keys were handed over to eligible families. Over the past 11-and-a-half years, 1.60 lakh houses had been provided to eligible families. He added that 3,250 flats had also recently been allotted to eligible beneficiaries in Sonipat and Gurugram. No poor person would now be deprived of medical treatment The Chief Minister said no poor person would now be deprived of medical treatment because of lack of money. Under the Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu Yojana, 29,20,806 patients had received free treatment worth Rs. 4,131 crore. He said Haryana was the first State in the country to provide dialysis facilities in every district-level hospital. So far, two lakh patients have benefited from the facility. The Chief Minister further said that senior citizens are receiving a monthly pension of Rs. 3,200, while women are being provided Rs. 2,100 every month under the Lado- Lakshmi Yojana. So far, Rs. 1,500 crore has been disbursed. State Information Commissioner Amar Jeet Singh, former Minister Anoop Dhanak and Babu Ram Abohar also addressed the gathering. Rajpal Indora, Vijay Khatak (Ludhiana), Dharambir Dawla, Hiralal, Rameshwar and several office-bearers of the DSC community were present on the occasion. No.IPRDH/ 2026 Haryana Art and Cultural Affairs Department to conduct a special campaign across the state 'Sanjhi' art workshops to be organised in different divisions of the state from June 2 to 4 Women to receive free training; Unique Initiative to connect them with cultural heritage Chandigarh, May 30 – With the objective of preserving and reviving Haryana’s rich cultural heritage and traditional folk art ‘Sanjhi’, the Art and Cultural Affairs Department is conducting a special campaign across the state. Under this campaign, three-day workshops will be organised at the divisional level to preserve this ancient folk art and connect the younger generation with their cultural roots. Under the guidance of the Commissioner and Secretary, Art and Cultural Affairs Department, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, and Director General, Sh. K.M. Pandurang, Sanjhi workshops will be organised in different divisions of the state from June 2 to 4, 2026. Women participating in these workshops will learn various forms of Sanjhi art and showcase their creativity by preparing Sanjhi artworks. Sharing information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that Sanjhi is not just an art form but a living expression of Haryana’s folk culture and rural traditions. Through this art, the younger generation can remain connected to its roots. Due to urbanisation and changing lifestyles, young people are gradually moving away from this traditional art form. Keeping this in view, the department is organising these workshops at the divisional level to create awareness among women and youth about Sanjhi art. Women interested in learning Sanjhi can participate in these free workshops and learn the techniques of creating this traditional folk art. The spokesperson appealed to women to participate enthusiastically in the workshops and contribute towards preserving and promoting Haryana’s rich cultural heritage. The department will provide all necessary guidance and training to participants so that they can learn this folk art and pass it on to future generations. No.IPRDH/2026 Haryana Irrigation Department Launches Massive Pre-Monsoon Drain Cleaning Drive Across State Chandigarh, May 30- In accordance with the directions of the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, has launched an extensive drain cleaning and desilting campaign as a major pre-monsoon preparedness initiative in a time-bound manner across the State to strengthen flood management and protect the public from waterlogging and flood-like situations during the upcoming monsoon season. Sharing information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that working around the clock, the Department is making relentless efforts and leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth drainage and effective management of storm water across rural areas. Senior officers are closely monitoring the progress of the works. Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry is also conducting regular review meetings with senior officers of the department to assess progress reports and ensure that all directions are implemented in a time-bound manner. The Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Sh. Anurag Agarwal has already issued directions to all Deputy Commissioners as well as the concerned Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of the Department to regularly inspect the ongoing works and ensure the timely completion of 100 percent drain clearance before the onset of monsoon. In addition, officers from the Head Office have also been deputed for regular field inspections across various districts of the State. The initiative primarily focuses on the removal of silt, weeds, vegetation, obstructions, and encroachments from drains, canals, and water channels so as to restore their carrying capacity and ensure smooth flow of storm water during the monsoon season. The spokesperson said that as part of the annual pre-monsoon preparedness programme, the Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Department has planned the cleaning and desilting of 716 drains covering a total length of 4,369.69 km during the current year. The drain cleaning works are being executed through Departmental Machinery as well as through e-Tendering Mode to ensure faster and efficient completion of works in a transparent manner. The works mainly involve the removal of accumulated silt and vegetation to restore the carrying capacity of drains and minimise the risk of flooding and waterlogging in vulnerable areas. The Department has fixed a target to complete the cleaning of all 716 identified drains by June 20, 2026. The works are being taken up on priority to ensure adequate flood preparedness across the State well before the arrival of the monsoon. The Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Department reiterated its commitment towards safeguarding public interests, strengthening drainage infrastructure, and ensuring effective flood management through timely and coordinated action. Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday lauded the Sikh community's unparalleled contribution to the nation, saying its legacy of courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the protection of faith continues to inspire generations and remains a matter of pride for every Indian. Addressing a ‘Dhanyawad’ Programme organised by the Sikh Sangat at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister said the Sikh community has set extraordinary examples of bravery and self-sacrifice throughout history. The Sikh community laid down its lives in defence of faith but never bowed before oppression. Their glorious heritage, sacrifices and valour are a source of immense pride for the entire nation, he said. On the occasion, members of the Sikh Sangat honoured the Chief Minister by presenting him with a Kirpan and a Siropa. The Chief Minister said that from Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, the Guru Sahiban guided humanity on the path of service, equality and courage. He said the supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, revered as 'Hind Di Chadar', and the martyrdom of the four Sahibzadas formed an integral part of the great Guru tradition that protected the nation and upheld its spiritual and cultural values. PM Modi-led Government Undertaking Historic Measures to Preserve and Promote Sikh Heritage Highlighting the Centre's initiatives, the Chief Minister said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, unprecedented efforts are being made to preserve and promote India's religious and cultural heritage. He said the Ministry of Tourism has approved the development of the Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Ferozepur, Amritsar, Khatkar Kalan, Kalanaur, Patiala Heritage Circuit under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme. The Chief Minister said that the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor connecting Dera Baba Nanak with Sri Kartarpur Sahib, along with the launch of dedicated air connectivity between Amritsar and Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, are among the landmark initiatives undertaken by the Central Government for the Sikh community. Paying tribute to the Sahibzadas, he said that Veer Bal Diwas is observed across the country every year on December 26 with deep reverence to honour their unparalleled sacrifice. Educational Institutions, Roads and Memorials Dedicated to Sikh Gurus Across Haryana Reaffirming the State Government's commitment to the Sikh community, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said several educational institutions and infrastructure projects have been named after revered Sikh personalities and places of historical significance. He said the upcoming medical college in Yamunanagar has been named after Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, while the Government Polytechnic College in Ambala has also been renamed in his honour. In addition, the Tohana–Jind–Dhamtan Sahib Road has been designated as 'Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Marg'. The Chief Minister further informed that the college at Assandh has been named after Baba Fateh Singh Ji, the youngest Sahibzada of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. A VLDA College has also been established at Lakhnaur Sahib in the name of Mata Gujri Kaur Ji. He added that a memorial gate and a forest dedicated to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji have been developed at Kalesar in Yamunanagar district. The foundation stone of the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial has also been laid at Lohgarh in Yamunanagar. Financial Assistance and Special Trains Benefiting Pilgrims Under Swarn Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Yojana The Chief Minister said that, keeping in view the deep religious sentiments of devotees, the Haryana Government launched the Swarn Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Yojana to facilitate pilgrimage to major Sikh shrines. Under the scheme, financial assistance is being provided to pilgrims travelling to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Sri Nankana Sahib, Sri Hemkunt Sahib and Takht Sri Patna Sahib. He further informed that two special trains have been operated from Kurukshetra and Sirsa to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, enabling devotees to undertake their pilgrimage with greater convenience. The Chief Minister reiterated that the Haryana Government would continue to work towards disseminating the teachings, values and ideals of the Guru Sahiban among the masses and remain committed to serving society by following the path shown by them. Among those present on the occasion were Sant Baba Jasdeep Singh, former Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, OSD to the Chief Minister, Sh. B.B. Bharti, BJP District President, Sh. Rajesh Sapra, Sh.
